問:身為「外國人」,你的孩子來到小圓仔共學,曾經有哪些不適應嗎?他們跟台灣孩子交朋友會覺得困難嗎?
Mao: 我覺得在小圓仔共學園裡和父母親的溝通滿好的,所以我和我的孩子在這裡溝通完全沒有困難。這裡的主帶老師是關鍵,她可以和我們用英文溝通,也會說一點點日語,我們在這裡很放心。
Ramses: 小圓仔老師們和父母之間的信任是好的。我的小孩在這個團體裡很容易就交到朋友。當我們遇到一些困難的時候,我們會直接面對面和老師溝通。在數位時代,我們透過手機等數位工具,很方便就可以成為團體的一份子。
我覺得小圓仔一個滿珍貴的東西,是在我們的Line群組,父母親是站在一個社群友善互助的角度,而不是控制、對老師下指導棋。沒有家長會在社群裡面抱怨,現在這個時代,躲在電腦或是手機後面抱怨,比面對面正視問題溝通簡單多了!
問:你會擔心你孩子的中文程度嗎?例如:學習ㄅㄆㄇ?
Mao: 完全不會!因為我的孩子現在中文說得比我還好。(笑)
Ramses: 我覺得在小圓仔是可以不用教ㄅㄆㄇ,但是像我家老大剛念完小學一年級,我覺得或許在小圓仔可以在進入小學的幾個月前,幫助孩子準備學前教育和體制內教學落差的銜接,例如:教孩子們寫自己的中文名字等。

Q:Did your child encounter any difficulty as a “ foreigner” in XYZ ?
Was it difficult, at the beginning, to make friends with other natives?
Mao: In XYZ, the communication with parents is quite good. I don’t have any difficulty in communicating, either my child. And also the leading teacher is the key person. She could communicate well in English, and also a bit Japanese, so we feel really insured.
Ramses: The trust among XYZ teachers and parents is good. My children make friends quite easily in this group. When we have some problems, we talk directly to teachers. In digital time, it’s very convenient to be part of a group through digital tools. I think the precious thing in XYZ, in our Line group, Parents stay friendly and supportive, instead of controlling teachers and teaching activities. No one complains through Line. In our time, it’s easier to complain behind your mobile or computer than talking and confronting the problem face to face.
Q:Do you worry about your child’s Chinese level, for example, ㄅㄆㄇ?
Mao: Not at all ! Because my child now speaks better Chinese than me. (Laughing)
Ramses: I think there’s no need to teach ㄅㄆㄇ in XYZ. However, as my elder child just finished her first year in elementary school, I found that XYZ could maybe add some courses to prepare the gap between preschool and the normal school system during last months. For example, writing his/her own Chinese name in characters, etc.
